The challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic are painfully felt by almost all companies.

The Federal Office of Economics and Export Control (BAFA) has been helping since the beginning of April 2020: without any contribution on their part, SMEs can apply for a one-off financial support of €4,000 for external consulting services until the end of 2020.
Prerequisite: The business activity of the respective company has been affected in some way by COVID-19.
Basis: The Addition to the framework directive on the promotion of entrepreneurial know-how of the BMI/BAFA.
Objective: The purpose of this support for external consultancy services is to enable SMEs to quickly develop measures to limit the economic consequences of the corona crisis and to restore their competitiveness
Condition: The promotion of entrepreneurial know-how must be given. In other words, the money must be used for consulting services aimed at improving the competitiveness of the company.
This also includes consulting services for the introduction or improvement of remote work. The forced conversion from office work to location-independent work has caught many companies cold. Although the technical prerequisites are mostly given, processes and productivity in almost all companies are affected by COVID-19. Neither management nor management team and employees are prepared for regular work away from the office.
There is a lack of knowledge and experience of how communication, processes, or leading teams can be sensibly transferred to decentralized work settings. Loss of productivity and uncertainty are the result. The rapid transition to professional, productive mobile working is more than ever a competitive advantage.
Eligible measures include
- Consulting and support during the transition to remote work
- Training and education for employees for better cooperation - decentralized and also on site
- Coaching and training of executives towards digital leadership and the leadership of decentralized teams
- Teaching of methods for mobile working, productivity maintenance, decentralized project management
